Hip Hop to Gen Z Camp Links STEAM and the Arts
Thirty students in 6th – 12th grade were immersed in learning experiences ranging from sound engineering and songwriting to filmmaking, and disc jockeying, facilitated by industry experts, during the SU Ag Center’s 3rd Annual Hip Hop to Gen Z Summer Camp.

SU College of Ag holds a successful 2026 BAYOU Program
The College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences (CAHES) hosted 22 high school seniors and incoming college freshmen from Louisiana, California, Texas, and Georgia for a week during the college’s annual Beginning Agricultural Youth Opportunities Unlimited (BAYOU) Program.

Georrein Dupre, an Environmental Toxicology doctoral student in the Southern University College of Agricultural, Human and Environmental Sciences (CAHES), has been appointed as the Region IV Graduate Student Vice President of the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) organization.
